Entertainment -
- Accented Art – This is a sip and paint type activity. Bring out your inner creative and gets some juices flowing with good conversation, drinks, and paint. You also get to take home your painting at the end to remember your date or just cover up an ugly whole in your wall in your apartment.
- Sunfire Ceramics – Great go to date place. You can go and be creative and get a take home to remember the date. Make something to hang on the wall or a mug to have your coffee in the morning. My suggestion is to give 2 separate names and numbers for the pickup that way when they are ready if the date didn’t go well you can return separately. This way each person can pick up their items without having to see the other. 😊
Food - Next let's go to dinner. There are so many places in Lawrence. Let's focus on the small business around town though.
- Mexican – Cascada La Golondrina – Who doesn’t love chips, salsa, and Margaritas. Food is great and staff is too. - $
- Asian Fusion – Encore Café – Hands down a go to date night favorite. The food is to die for. Great place to get something different. If you have not tried it here this is a great place to try. - $$
- Merchants – 2 words Mac & Cheesemonger! Enough said but I will elaborate. You must get the bacon on it as it is FREE and who does not like bacon. Everything is fresh and feels fresh and clean. They have 30 beers on tap, a very expansive wine menu, and great cocktails. If your night is to end here, check out their dessert menu. - $$
Drinks - If your night is not to end after dinner, then let's get some drinks.
- John Browns Underground – Had my first Moscow Mule there!
- Lawrence Beer Co – Best Brewery in town for me and they have 2 locations.
- The Jayhawker – On mass inside the Eldridge Hotel and is a classier place.
Conversation - Lastly many ladies do not want to go back to your place to have coffee.
- Suggestion is to get coffee somewhere out. There are too many places to list but remember to try and find a local place open and support the small businesses around town.
- An even better suggestion that not all know about is the Nostalgia Room. It just sounds like another bar but it's not. All drinks are made without Alcohol. This will show your respect to your dinner date. You can also get some final socialization before you part ways.
