Lawrence is home to many farms and in turn wineries as well. Here are some of the many in the area.
- Crescent Moon Winery
o Crescent Moon has a tasting room in Downtown Lawrence along with their tastings at the winery. Downtown is open on Thursday and both location are open Fri-Sunday. They offer samples of 6 wines at $10/person. They have an amazing looking event space.
o Their wines range from $16 - $20 each bottle.
- Trivedi Wine LLC
o This is a family-owned winery that has been in business for 2 years. They work with 8 local farms for all their produce. They offer live music and events most weekends from April to November. At these events they also have a food truck each Saturday.
o They have 16 wines ranging from $21 - $26 each bottle.
- Z&M Twisted
o Z&M is named after Brian Zesger and Gina Montalbano (owners). They make hard ciders and wines from their own local farm. They go to and have events many days out of the week. Their Lawrence tasting room is open Wed-Sunday. They have the most variety of wines I have seen from anyone in the local area.
o They offer a quarterly wine membership.
o Their wines range from $24 - $36 each bottle.
o They even offer coffee wines all at $28 each.
- Davenport Orchard
o In 1997 Greg Shipe and Charlie Glinka took their farm and amateur wine making commercially and opened Davenport Winery. Their intent is to make good wine from only Kansas grown fruit. They have locations in Eudora and Topeka. Topeka is temporarily closed.
o I was not able find pricing for their wine.
- Bluejacket Winery
o In 2002 they did their initial planting of grapes. Their vineyard is in Eudora along with their tasting room. You can usually find them at the Lawrence Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning. Samantha from Satsuma Esthetics love Bluejacket. Her favorite wines are the Kansas Transplant (sweet Moscato) and Wolf Red (fruit-forward unoaked blend).
o Their wines range from $14 - $18 per bottle.
